Industry Leaders Sign On to Chair PRSA 2010 International Conference in Washington, D.C.




NEW YORK (Jan. 11, 2010) — Three highly respected public relations industry leaders have agreed to serve as co-chairs of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) 2010 International Conference in Washington, D.C.

As Conference co-chairs, Robert Hastings, APR, vice president of communications, Northrop Grumman Information Systems; Torod Neptune, senior vice president and global public affairs practice leader, Waggener Edstrom Worldwide; and MaryLee Sachs, chairman – Hill & Knowlton USA, will lead PRSA’s 2010 International Conference Committee. They will work with PRSA staff members to make strategic decisions, identify Conference keynote speakers, support Conference marketing and sponsor-solicitation efforts, and define program areas, themes and topics.

“I’m excited and delighted to have three individuals of such accomplishment working with us to shape our 2010 Conference,” said William M. Murray, CAE, president and COO of PRSA.

This year’s Conference, “Powering PRogress,” will take place Oct. 16-19, at the Hilton Washington. The Conference theme recognizes public relations’ role as a driver of business outcomes central to organizational progress, while capturing the essence of Washington, D.C., as the seat of power and progress for our nation and the world.

The PRSA International Conference is the public relations industry’s largest annual learning and networking event, drawing thousands of public relations and communications professionals from all practice areas and levels of experience who want to learn, share, make industry connections and, ultimately, advance their careers. In excess of 3,000 professionals attended PRSA’s 2009 International Conference in San Diego, where they chose from more than 80 professional development sessions lead by 175 of the best and brightest industry thought leaders.
