PRSA Seeks Presenters for 2010 International Conference in Washington, D.C.

NEW YORK (Jan. 13, 2010) — The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is seeking subject matter experts — including public relations and communications professionals, academics, economists, social scientists, futurists, technologists, management consultants, journalists, bloggers and others — to present at its 2010 International Conference in Washington, D.C.

Specifically, PRSA is seeking presentations that demonstrate:
  • Public relations strategies and value (with measurable outcomes).
  • Solutions for organizational challenges (reputation and trust, staff development, internal communications, corporate social responsibility, social media engagement).
  • Public relations as a driver of critical business outcomes (crisis mitigation, sales generation, issues management, stakeholder engagement, legislative compliance, behavioral and attitudinal shifts).
  • Organizational positioning (branding, integrated marketing communications, risk management).
  • Career core competencies (ethics, leadership, business development, collaboration, networking).
Potential speakers may submit their proposals at www.prsa.org/ic.

“This is a great opportunity for industry thought leaders to gain high-level visibility for their strategies, theories, ideas, research and accomplishments, while enhancing their stature and leadership profiles within the public relations community,” said William M. Murray, CAE, president and COO of PRSA.

The PRSA International Conference is the public relations industry’s largest annual learning and networking event, drawing thousands of public relations and communications professionals from all practice areas and levels of experience who want to learn, share, make industry connections and, ultimately, advance their careers. In excess of 3,000 professionals attended PRSA’s 2009 International Conference in San Diego, where they chose from more than 80 professional development sessions lead by 175 of the best and brightest industry thought leaders.

This year’s conference, “Powering PRogress,” will take place Oct. 16-19, at the Hilton Washington. The Conference theme recognizes public relations’ role as a driver of business outcomes central to organizational progress, while capturing the essence of Washington, D.C., as the seat of power and progress for our nation and the world.

Currently, PRSA is offering a “super saver” rate for individuals who register to attend the 2010 Conference by March 1. To take advantage of this special offer, download the Conference registration form.
