During the final day of the three-day (Oct. 12-14) International Conference, Buckley will draw from his extensive public relations background to deliver his keynote speech, “Big Data and Analytics for Communications Pros: Why the Math Matters.” His transition from agency executive to client affords him the opportunity to speak about strategy from multiple perspectives including leveraging data and analytics to inform communications strategy.
“Mike is a true innovator in the communications profession and works daily on data and analytics, and how they apply to the public relations function,” said Joe Cohen, APR, 2014 PRSA National Chair. “Conference attendees will benefit from hearing Mike’s unique perspective on the trends that are reshaping PR, and how they can stay ahead during this time of tremendous transformation within the media landscape.”
Prior to joining Facebook in 2013, Buckley was US Managing Partner at Brunswick Group, an international communications consultancy. During his 11 years there his clients included AT&T, Chevron, Cisco, as well as Facebook, as they opened their initial public offering. Buckley is also a co-founder and board member of New Frontier Foods which creates and markets healthy snacks.
The PRSA 2014 International Conference theme is “Leading the Way: A Fearless Future for PR.” The focus of the conference will be on the need of practitioners and the profession to adapt to today’s transformative media environment.
The Conference will be held at Washington Marriott Wardman Park. Attendees can save $300 by registering for the 2014 International Conference by Aug. 22. Discounted hotel and travel rates are also available.
