PRSA Comments on Increase in PR Agency Acquisitions in PRWeek Letter to the Editor

PRSA had a letter to the editor published in the Feb. 25, 2011, print and online editions of PRWeek (UK) in response to a Feb. 17 op-ed by PRWeek editor Danny Rogers that examined large agencies' growth over the past year and a recent uptick in acquisitions of digitally-savvy small firms.

It's interesting you note that online corporate reputation management is leading to growth in the PR sector, and yet continued success in this area must come from agencies that can offer clients global solutions ('Danny Rogers: Emerging markets offer global incentives', prweek.com/uk, Feb. 17).
 
I certainly agree, particularly as we see more and more large agencies becoming leaders in digital services ... We only have to look at WPP's announcement of its new digitally focused global agency as an indication that large, multinational agencies are reasserting their lead in client services.
