(PRSA) is leading the collaborative, industry-wide initiative, which seeks to modernize the definition of public relations. It is receiving support
from 12 international public relations and communications associations.
in the publication’s Nov. 25, 2011, edition that the international advocacy campaign aimed at modernizing the definition of public relations is “appropriate” because the “tens of thousands employed within this well-established industry need to more clearly and consistently explain what they do — and the value they add.”
He adds: “It also matters because, as I have said frequently here recently, there is a pressing demand to hire the best digital talent. And this recruitment process would be boosted by improved rigor in defining the role.”
