Leadership Assembly Approves Slate of Candidates for Board of Directors
ORLANDO, Fla. (October 15, 2011)
— Delegates representing the 32,000-professional and student members of the Public Relations Society of America
(PRSA) have elected Mickey G. Nall, APR, Fellow PRSA
, to be PRSA’s 2013 chair and CEO. Nall is managing director of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide
in Atlanta, and a member of PRSA’s Board of Directors.
The vote, which took place at the annual meeting of PRSA’s Leadership Assembly, formally accepts the PRSA Nominating Committee’s recommendation of Nall and four other directors to lead the organization beginning in 2013. The Leadership Assembly meets each year in conjunction with the Society’s International Conference; the 2011 conference, “Imagine. Create. Inspire. Envisioning the Future of Public Relations
,” will run through Oct. 18. More than 3,000 public relations professionals and students are expected to attend.
"It’s a great honor to be elected to lead PRSA in 2013,” said Nall. “I look forward to working with the Society’s leadership and members to accomplish several important goals, including the creation of a more diverse and welcoming environment for the public relations profession; standardizing the industry’s measurement tools, to better demonstrate our value to employers and the organizations we support; and the development of industry-leading best practices and tools that advance the profession.”
Joining Nall on the 2012 PRSA National Executive Committee will be Gerard F. Corbett, APR Fellow PRSA, 2012 chair and CEO; Kathy Barbour, APR, treasurer; and David C. Rickey, APR, secretary.

Nall Brings Experience, Passion to Role as Chair
His clients at Ogilvy have included the Federal Emergency Management Agency; Brand Atlanta; U.S. Fire Administration (USFA); United Way of America; U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); American Home Furnishings Alliance; America Automobile Association (AAA); Coca-Cola’s Minute Maid products; Sylvan Learning Systems; and General Electric Global Exchange Services.
Prior to joining Ogilvy, Nall was director of communications for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
. He was also president of Nall II Agency Inc., a Florida-based public relations consulting firm. He is co-chair of the PRSA Georgia Chapter’s Advocacy Committee, and in 2009, was named a distinguished alumnus of the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications.
