PRSA International Conference App Directs, Connects Conference Attendees

Plus: Other Must-Have Technologies for International Conference Goers

NEW YORK (Oct. 8, 2012) — Printed conference programs are so 20th Century.
The days of relying on printed programs and cryptic floor plans to navigate from keynote presentation to breakout session to reception are long gone, replaced by an array of apps and other technological tools that keep conference attendees tethered to the program and one another.
For the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) 2012 International Conference, Oct. 13 – 16, in San Francisco, attendees can download a free mobile app that not only produces the entire Conference agenda at the touch of a button, but also provides detailed descriptions of each presentation, an exhibitor directory, news alerts and hotel information.
Sponsored by the Meltwater Group, the app also comes preloaded with information about local dining, entertainment, transportation and other resources, as well as links to PRSA’s social networking channels. Program “alerts” keep attendees informed of any program changes or updates.
Conference attendees can download the user-friendly app to their smartphones by following the appropriate link below, depending on their operating system:
The app also is available by searching for prsa ic in the iPhone/iPad App Store or prsa sf in Google Play.
For assistance downloading and installing the app, contact the PRSA Help Desk or call (212) 460-1484.
"In a mobile society and, especially in a profession where smartphones and tablets are now essential and critical tools of the trade, a mobile app is a great way to engage and connect with Conference participants," said PRSA Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Gerard F. Corbett, APR, Fellow PRSA. "The PRSA 2012 International Conference mobile app will enhance the experience by allowing attendees to fully engage, plan ahead, seek out Conference partners, connect with colleagues and otherwise make the most efficient use of their time in San Francisco.
