PRSA Chair Discusses the Challenge of 21st Century PR

In a July 30 feature on the Global Alliance for PR and Communication Management website, Mickey G. Nall, APR, Fellow PRSA discusses diversity, inclusivity and professionalism in public relations, and how the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is taking on these important issues.

In the interview, Nall discusses important topics such as engagement among members, dealing with a multicultural membership, the “Business Case for PR” and PRSA’s biggest event of the year, the PRSA 2013 International Conference. Throughout the interview, Nall emphasizes his focus on “One PRSA.” What is One PRSA? Nall explains, “It is the notion that no matter where you are, there’s a true sense of community within PRSA. Our members do more than merely represent the public relations profession, they also support one another.”

PRSA is a community of more than 21, 000 public relations and communications professionals across the United States. How do you engage with such a wide membership? How do you facilitate and enhance the creation of a sense of community among your members?
