PRSA Chair Quoted in U.S. News & World Report on PR as a Promising Career

Gerard Corbett, APR, Fellow PRSA, chair and CEO of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is quoted in Feb. 27, 2012, article in U.S. News & World Report, which names “Public Relations Specialist” to the publication’s “Best Jobs 2012” list.
Speaking to the significant growth of the public relations profession in recent years, Corbett says that “the onset of social infrastructure such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest, combined with the versatility of Web tools” has generated new career opportunities for public relations professionals.
Corbett goes on to say that a career in public relations requires “writing skills, critical thinking ability, fast turnaround, patience, a thick-skin mentality, and creativity."
