PRSA Chair Talks with PRNewser About Modernizing Definition of Public Relations

In a Jan. 25, 2012, interview with PRNewser, Gerard F. Corbett, APR, Fellow PRSA, chair and CEO of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) says that the definition of public relations should be “simple and understandable by non-PR professionals.” Corbett was referencing the PRSA-led “Public Relations Defined” initiative, which aims to modernize the definition of public relations through a collaborative, global process.
Corbett also spoke to PRNewser about PRSA’s 2012 focus on increasing diversity within the profession, enhancing ethical standards and “creating an understanding at large about PR.”
