Scott Stratten to Challenge Attendees to Defy Conventional Thinking at PRSA’s 2016 International Conference

NEW YORK, May 31, 2016Scott Stratten, president of Un-Marketing and an authentic marketing, social and viral expert has been added to The Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) 2016 International Conference keynote lineup.  Stratten will present the closing keynote, entitled “Everything has Changed and Nothing is Different,” on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Indianapolis.
“Scott understands how to bridge the gap between the virtual world and the real world, and develop the type of lasting relationships with clients that all public relations professionals seek and all businesses wish they had, ” said Mark McClennan, APR, 2016 PRSA National Chair. “As we fight to make our messages resonate in a crowded influencer landscape, Scott’s advice about thinking creatively is invaluable.”
Stratten merges the latest thinking on public relations, marketing and relationship building tactics to provide communicators with the information they need to move from selling to customer engagement.  He will offer tactics for listening and engaging with audiences in ways that will enable attendees to build trust and position their organization as the logical choice for their products and services.
While communication professionals are constantly searching for the next big thing in digital technology, Stratten advises that the principles of public relations have largely remained the same. He will explain to attendees that trust, connection, consistency and service will always be the most important aspects of a brand’s reputation. As communicators explore virtual reality and 360 video, Stratten cautions that like other “bright shiny business objects” that this may be “more hype than help.”
Statten has authored four best-selling business books, including his newest, UnSelling: The New Customer Experience.  He was named one of the “Top 5 Social Media Influencers in the World” by Forbes Magazine.  Companies such as PepsiCo, Red Cross, Cirque du Soleil, and Fidelity Investments, have turned to Stratten to provide guidance on social media and relationship marketing.
The PRSA International Conference, which will take place Oct. 23 to Oct. 25, is the largest gathering of public relations professionals in the United State.
