Rohde Joins Soledad O’Brien, Chris Brogan and Peter Diamandis as Keynoters
NEW YORK (July 27, 2011) —The imagination of Disney comes to the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) 2011 International Conference in the shape of Joe Rohde, senior vice president and creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering. As a 30-year veteran of Disney, Rohde will open the General Session on Monday, Oct. 17, with his presentation “Theme Is a Noun.”
Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of The Walt Disney Company and its affiliates. Representing more than 140 disciplines, its talented corps of Imagineers is responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships and new media technology projects.
“I couldn’t think of a better fit for this year’s PRSA International Conference than Joe Rohde, especially considering this year’s theme, ‘Imagine. Create. Inspire: Envisioning the Future of Public Relations,” said Rosanna Fiske, APR, PRSA chair and CEO. “Our theme speaks to the new opportunities that technology continuously creates for public relations professionals, and invites practitioners to imagine the ways in which those opportunities will shape the profession’s future.”
Rohde joins other keynote speakers at the International Conference, including Soledad O’Brien, special investigations correspondent and host of CNN’s “In America”; Peter Diamandis, CEO of X Prize Foundation; and Chris Brogan, “Trust Agents” author, social media consultant and president of Human Business Works.
The International Conference will be held in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 15–18. Conference participants can take advantage of discounted hotel rates in Orlando. Attendees can save $200 off regular registration prices by taking advantage of the Saver Rate when they register by Aug. 26.
