Legislative, Regulatory and Public Policy Issues
As the largest association of public relations professionals, PRSA is dedicated to advancing the needs of the profession. In fulfilling its mission, PRSA has a duty to advocate for members, the profession and all communicators by keeping a keen eye on challenges and opportunities in the professional environment.

For that purpose, PRSA regularly monitors, identifies and proactively addresses legislative, regulatory, public policy and practice developments that impact the way we practice our craft, serve clients and stakeholders, and earn and sustain public appreciation and respect.

The broad swath of relevant topics and issues includes: professional ethics, as set out in the PRSA Code of Ethics, First Amendment protections, broadcast and advertising regulations, campaign communication legislation, emerging social media protocols, and affronts to public relations’ business value and professional reputation.
